Here I try a new set of tunes from Lúnasa.I attended a master class with Tristan Rosenstock* of the group Téada a few weeks ago along with some fellow DC-area bodhran players. He gave some good tips and ideas, including taking a \"breath\" when the other musicians do, and really listening to the other musicians so that you\'re not just barreling through the music without regard for what else is going on. I tried to apply that second notion to the second part of this tune (or tunes--it\'s not really clear from the title that it\'s two tunes, but it sure sounds like it). The triplet and rolls that were still difficult to get just a few weeks back, are now finally much easier to call on when I want them. I\'m really enjoying getting more comfortable with the instrument, and I\'m starting to think about getting a better bodhran to play on at some point, sooner rather than later.Feedback is always welcome.***UPDATE: Found the liner notes. It is two tunes! The Merry Sisters of Fate and The Longacre.****Babe alert: Handsome lad with a beautiful Dublin accent and a real charmer! Oh, and he can play a mean bodhran :)

This is Emily\'s bodhran solo at the beginning of the New Reels, by Clandestine. This is from a concert on September 12, 2009 in Arlington TX. The camera is EJ Jones\'s iPhone. He started the video, then handed it off to Al Cofrin. There is an unceremonious \"fade\" to black as the iPhone is left on the stage so all musicians could use their hands for a higher purpose.

Bodhran, home-built...Only been playing a few months, but wanted a nicer sounding drum than the one I purchased online. I did a lot of research online and tried making my own, I\'m pleased with the end result. Maple shell, goatskin (medium thickness sanded down), mid-east adjusters.
