Got my new bodhran that I bought at Craiceann today.

Its a 12" (30cm) Lightline Deep, made by Christian Hedwitschak.

Bin givin it a good whack.

Like all of Christian's drums it has the lovely deep bass.
There is a dorsal line located up near the top (or maybe its the bottom, or side.....) which is providing some lovely attack.

Unlike some of Christian's High-End DRAGONSkins the bass isn't too much and because of the thicker, dorsal part there is a good bit of bite too. The back of the skin is smooth, but fells more like skin then velvet (Something I have a problem with on some of the D-skins..)

So far I am really pleased with this drum. It makes a nice change from the Egg - softer and a bit quieter..
(not saying I dont like the Egg - cause I love It!)

congrats to the new drum. Eamon Murray told me used his 12" LLD on a good bit of the recording of the new Beoga CD. I love mine too, but when I play it, it looks a bit....eh..silly :)
