NEW VIDEO Single Ended Rolls and Double Down DEMO video

I have extracted a wee demo video from the material I originally recorded about single ended rolls.

The demo relies very heavily on double downs partly because that's my natural way of playing jigs but partly too because some rolls will leave you with an inverted stroke direction.

The video uses lots of different types of these rolls mixed up in a jig format.

There is a 45 second full speed version and then a 1/3 speed version that is actually much more illustrative than I had hoped. It also illustrates the wee timing glitches and drags out the erroneous shell contact - oops :)

I'm happy if I'm providing useful technical-exploration material that illustrates that which my words can't readily impart; also you'll be able to hear the tones now you are beating on a decent drum :). You are welcome to visit again if you can get away for an hour sometime.

I'm planning a vid hopefully explaining how I execute those various rolls and how they fit in with the music from my perspective. Double down and single ending go hand in hand so I may cover both in one go.

As long as no-one minds the hasty preparation and could-be-smoother presentation I'll try and make a series of these.

Nice job again looks/sounds great, we're keeping you busy of late!

Wish me luck I've just worked out the play order for my Bodhrán performance exam tomorrow. I'm conducting some tone experiments with 2 Hayes & Cahill tunes. Not playing styles I'd normally but percussion to, but the vibe the set is perfect for what I'm attempting. Excited & nervous about it at the same time!

Okay I'll just play em through one more time!
