The striking style in both videos reminds me of a fella I knew a long time ago named Dave Murphy. He was from Columbus, Ohio, and played with a band called the Irish Brigade. He told me he'd picked up this style in Donegal, although without the the thumb work or the jingles. He had a devilish fast motor rhythm playing this way.Also, the massive Tipper reminds me of some old footage of Peadar Mercier, possibly when he was still with Ceoltoiri Chualann. Not sure, though, as it was in color. All the best,
