It would hardly be an Eckermann drum if it was made by Rob :P
Nope the 'Egg' refers to an Egg Drum (shaped like an egg..)

Hi Cillian,

Yeah, i thought it was a bit strange, eckermann drum made by Rob, but i didn't know there are bodhrans shaped like an egg (you learn something every day) ;-)

What's the advantage of an egg shaped drum?

Lol did u read Paul's review?

Its all to do with sound - havin higher freq's up the top and lower freq's at the bottom. It theoretically has a wider range of sound than a circular drum..

I cant wait do get it :P
