I just wanted to float the idea of having a bodojo meeting during Irishfest 2007.

Naturally there will be the classes at the UWM and then the sessions at Carinis in the week during the summer school but I wanted to see if there are any other opportunities to meet up and have a bod-chat, whatever...

It would also be great to arrange to meet up sometime during the festival itself. There are to be several makers and players in town and I'll see what I can do to facilitate everyone meeting up.

I'm planning on doing another goatwhacker's blog, (2006 blog here) it would be great if it came from a number of us acting as correspondents - nothing formal but all images and brief gig reports will be gratefully accepted. I'll arrange downloads of the new Diff Drums CD for anyone who contributes.

Paul Phillips is available for private lessons BTW, his email is in the new 'bodojo connections' feature on the right hand side of the main page. He doesn't get to the US very often so this is an opportunity to have some one on one time if that may be useful.

Hey all ye goatwhackers,

Milwaukee is almost upon us - yay! Final preparations are not yet started, in fact I have lifted my head out of my work just long enough to register the fact that I'm leaving in 72 hrs. Yikes!

I suggest that we have our first meeting as an informal get-together at Carini's on Monday evening of Summer School week - The session only seems to be running Monday to Wednesday.

Having it early in the week gets us all together early on to break the ice and I'm sure that every night will be a minimeet. Maybe we can have a grand bodfeast on Wednesday night to 'toast the goat', a clatter of goatwhackers around one table, how cool!

Regarding the festival meet up, it's probably best if we don't have it too early in the day, perhaps if we arrange to meet up on Friday night behind the Aer Lingus Stage sound desk at 6pm, an hour before the Beoga gig and take it from there. Sound good?

I'm just off the phone with Darius and he will be around along with Colm Phelan, Mike Quinlan is due to show up also.... AFAIK Paul Phillips will have a few opportunities for some one on one time if anyone is interested, email him or me in advance, or arrange it with him yourself when we get there.

I'll try to update the site with any new places or dates as they happen but that depends entirely on my getting internet access.

I'm very excited to see lots of old friends - Rob Forkner, Chris &amp; Charlie from the tea merchants, Amy Richter, Pat Rowe, Andreas &amp; Randy, Ryan &amp; Twigger from GS, Mark &amp; the instructors from Trinity Dance...jeez and so many more, I'm sure we'll be seeing Ciaran Munnelly &amp; Paul Kelly at the sessions too and I do really hope that Simon O'Dwyer is there, he's such fun to have around.

Very cool - can't wait!
