Hey all,

This is a call for interest for anyone who might be free and interested in attending the inaugral bodojo bodhran club - Belfast Chapter.

I propose to hold this Wednesday evening 10th September 2006 at my home in Bangor from around 7 and then we can go to the Garrick Bar in Belfast where there is a session from about 9.30

These are free and informal gatherings for bodojo members, Tea & coffee will be supplied. There is no specific agenda because it is ostensibly a social event.

I will have a number of drums for visitors to see and try out. It is a useful opportunity to sample and compare various makers' drums as discussed here.

As I am here in Virginia, U.S.A., I will obviously not be able to be there.

However, I was excited to learn you live in Bangor! My wife and I were in Bangor for two weeks in July. Great town! We plan on coming back next Summer (hopefully), so I'd love to meet up with you when we're over there.

for sure, drop in for a cuppa and a bit of bodchat next time you are here. Bangor's not the most exciting place in the world (unless you are into boats or clubbing) but Co Down is beautiful. I'm a lucky man to live here.

It's always great to have members get in touch and drop in, or to meet them on my own travels, I have seen quite a few of y'all over the past few years; it's always a pleasure and I have gained many new friends.

That's part of what the bodhran clubs are about, the social aspects are as important as the pure drumming side of it. I'm happy to help a clatter of bodhran players get together in any part of the world, even if only to make melody players nervous! :)

Nice 1 Paul, I'm just sorting myself out again having finished out the season in Lisdoonvarna. Loads of catching up to do and I see we've a clatter of new members, all good! I could be persuaded to go up Down mid week I aint up to all that much let me see about transport etc and I'll let you know might go via Dublin and see the folks aint been home for a while.
