Pitch is generally taken to refer to the musical note, related to the speed of vibration of the skin(Hz).

Because a drum does not vibrate linearly like a string, a wooden bar or a column of air,the drum will have many tones in addition to the fundamental (desired) tone. This is dealt with through Edge Loading
